Does this verse state that Hell and everyone in it will one day cease to exist?

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Revelation 20:14

alright, hell isn’t real first of all, it only exist from your thoughts. your thoughts create your hell.

Death in the Bible never means “cease to exist”. Rather, it means either physical or spiritual passing on.

It is clear throughout the New Testament, that the lake of fire is eternal torment.

The truth about death is that death brings immediate heaven or hell, depending only on whether you believed in JESUS for His free gift of salvation, or not. There is no second chance to be saved, after death.

Heaven is eternal joy with the Lord! 😀

The lake of fire is eternal separation from God, eternal torment, and eternal corruption. Nobody has to be sent to the lake of fire.

Because the TRUTH is that the death and blood of JESUS is the only acceptable SACRIFICE and PAYMENT for our sins, and we are all sinners. Nothing else pays for any of our sins. All the good deeds in the world won’t pay for even ONE of our sins. All the “living a moral life” won’t pay for even one of our sins. No “religions of the world” can pay for anyone’s sins.

So to be in heaven and not in hell, believe in Jesus for salvation RIGHT NOW!

Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! 😀 And the Trinity is true!

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to hell, is by believing in JESUS for His free gift of eternal life in heaven, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what! John 3:16, John 6:47! 😀

Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in JESUS for His free gift of salvation! It is impossible to lose or “leave” salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).

Please pray now: “Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!” You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die! 😀

No, you need to look at the passage and understand it.

Let me break it up for you:

Death and Hell. These are two different things. Death is our human death(we die after so many years), and hell is talking about demons and the devil. God banished them from heaven to Hell, how-ever satan and demons still effect us meaning they are not locked in hell.

This passage is saying that the unforgiven humans and the demons/devil will one day be cast into the lake of fire as a final and eternal punishment. It will be like a second death, wheras other(forgiven humans) will recieve a second and eternal life.

NO. It only says death and Hades. It doesn’t say the lake of fire. Revelation 20:10 says the devil will be tormented for eternity. How can he be tormented for eternity if the lake of fire ceases to exist?

Besides, death and Hades refers to the literal grave, not a place of torment, indicated by the reference to the sea.

So this Scripture is saying that the grave will be thrown into the lake of fire. More specifically, into the earth’s outer core.

The earth’s crust will be thrown into the earth’s outer core. It will be like a whirlpool and look like a waterfall.

    Correct.

Hell is a broad term for two things in the Bible.

1.) Hades – Common grave of mankind. Most people who die goe there. Jesus was in Hades for a few days before he was resurrected as a spirit person. In Hades you are in God’s memory, but dead/gone//nonexistent in all other ways.

2.) Gehenna – Jesus said some people were in Gehenna, like religious leaders of his day that were misleading people. Gehenna is dead without a hope of resurrection/not in God’s memory to be resurrected.

At that time everyone who has died will have been given a judgment. Those who are there when death and hell are cast into the lake of fire will be those that refuse to live according to God’s will. Then death will be done away with.

(Revelation 21:1-4) . . .And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. 2 I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Good question, but it woukd be wise to find answers yourself, rather than trust someone else’s opinion. Especially when it concerns where you will spend eternity. Bless you in your studies…

You maybe should read the whole Chapter, because just a few verses earlier you can read:

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

They will exist for ever and ever to be tormented.
