What is a demon, and where are they from.?

And don’t give me any of that biblical bullshit. Clearly there are evil spirits walking around on earth. I don’t think it has anything to do with heaven and hell, satan or god, so you can keep the religious garbage to yourself. What are they really?

It doesn’t originate with Christianity. Christianity was the first to depict them as something evil or malicious. A demon or daemon or whathaveyou was considered something like a familiar that had some form of greater knowledge or secrets. I think the origin might have been with the greeks but I am unsure. But it is akin to a knowledgeable spirit. When Christianity came along, they were made out to be something evil, like much of other pagan practices or entities at the time.

As far as any entity that is purely innately evil, I’ve yet to find anything like that.

What the…? You ask a question and then restrict us from answering with our own truthful opinions?
I’m just gonna answer what I think, even if you apparently don’t like it.

I think demons are spirits that come from hell to try and turn people to the dark side or ruin the good people. They can bind themselves to animals, objects, or people to control them and do horrible things. Overall they pretty much are purely all the bad feelings.

Well, demons are only mentioned in the bible, so the bible babble is what you have to hear to get a full understanding child.

Roughly speaking a demon or daemon should be considered any spirit which isn’t a Messenger (angel) or ancestor (ghost). And according to traditional belief they are both everywhere and from everywhere.

Let’s assume that life, ALL life, is made up of energy, positive and negative that attracts and repels. Like magnetism. It would then make sense that a person will “attract” energy from other people, or even other sources, in order to balance what their body is lacking.
Let’s also assume that when a person’s body dies, their energy keeps working long enough for it to disperse, a shelf life, if you will. The more energy stored in a body when it dies, the longer shelf-life that a “spirit” has to carry on with memories and activity.
If we put those together, we get a human being who draws energy from others for whatever reason. A “psychic vampire” if you will.
When that person dies they have lots of energy stored up that can still be used, for good or for ill. It could be that “psy vamps” are not possessed by “Satanic demons” in life, rather BECOME what people perceive as “demons” in order to continue pulling energy from others in order to “stay alive”.
(cut and pasted from one of my earlier answers.)
