Signed up for Scentsy because I love the wax and smell, but cannot seem to sell it? Advice?

I just signed up and want to do tradeshows, but I don’t want to waste my money with trade shows. I cannot get anyone to hold a party for me. I have thought about getting leads like paying for leads off the internet, but afraid to spend on that. Do Scentsy consultants really make any money or is it a scam? Thanks.

You joined MLM. In MLM almost nobody is making money regardless how much they work. Statistically only about 2%-5% of MLM members are making livable income. Learn your mistake, get away from any MLM business and find a job(at least try).

I do not recommend paying for leads. Scentsy is all about getting the product in front of people’s noses. You will find it much easier to build a customer base if people can see and smell the product rather than telling them about it. Try taking Scentsy will you and give out little samples with your business card. Pull it out of your bag and start going through it where ever you are so you create interest around you. Look for small community holiday events where tables are only $10-$20 to reserve. You have to get the product in front of people. Telling them about it does not work as well as having them experience it. The great thing about Scentsy is so many people have never heard of it so the potential for customers is great, however, that leaves it up to you to make people aware of what it is which can be hard work. In the long run it will pay off.

And, multi-level is really no different than any other company. People start at the bottom and work their way in to management, if they want to, just like a regular job. The difference is you determine your level of success, not your boss. Plug in to the Scentsy training center and join the Scentsy forum to find more help.

Well you love the product, so that’s a start. If you’re going to do trade shows, you will have to spend money up front. I really don’t recommend putting a lot of money up front unless you’re certain it’s going to come back to you. I think it’s best to start out with the least amount of your pocket to begin with. When you earn some money, then use it towards your business. Let your business work for you.

Scentsy (and many of the other direct sales companies) are not scams, but they do take work. I’ve been a Scentsy consultant for two years and through that time have found what works best for me and what doesn’t. Have you had an Open House? That’s a great way to get the word out there about your business. Offer incentives for those who choose to host a party. Show them all the great rewards they can earn for hosting a party.

Really, all it takes is one great party to get things going. One party will have new people that have never heard of Scentsy and are willing to host a party themselves. Then their party will have more new people…and so on. One party is all it takes to get things rolling.

Don’t get discouraged. This time of year is amazing for sales and if you can’t find someone to host a party, then host it yourself. No reason not to earn your own free stuff!

Good luck! I hope you find success with your business.

I like the way you create and also the theme on your weblog. Did you code this your self or was it accomplished by a qualified? I’m very incredibly impressed.
