I believe you are looking for the engine type that goes into the Corevette and some new Camaros! LS6

The LS1 was a 350 cubic inch (5.7L) engine. It has an aluminum engine block with 6 bolt main bearings. In stock form they make about 350 horsepower. It was a complete redesign of their small block V8 having nothing in common with the earlier first generation and LT series engines.

The LSX has a cast iron block intended to make much more horsepower. It can be used on the street however it was designed more for racing applications. The legendary Pro Stock driver Warren Johnson had a lot of input into the design of this engine. It comes in 2 sizes. 376 cubic inches and 454 cubic inches. Both sizes are considered small blocks.

The 376 engine uses LS3 cylinder heads. The 454 uses cylinder heads very similar as the ones used on the LS7. Pretty sure any LS series manifold will work with these engines.

The 376 makes about 450 horsepower and the 454 makes about 620 horsepower. However the much stronger components make the LSX capable of much more power.

The LSX is basically a iron block performance minded LS1 that is capable of much bigger displacement and power.. the reason your finding so much about LS1-LS9 information is people like to refer to the LS family as the LSx family
