I wear a men’s medium t-shirt size but NFL Jersey’s have different sizing to my understanding? I want a jersey with a sewn name and number.

I would maybe consider an extra large, size 52 so you will have a little more time to grow into it. At 14 years old you will grow some more, and maybe quickly. For sewn on numbers you will want either a premier jersey or an authentic jersey.
