What brand of chips and salsa?

When I dine out in a Mexican rest., the chips and salsa are always soo good. But what brand label are they or are they freshly made each day? I have tried so many chips and salsa and cannot locate the same taste.
BTW, What would be the recipe for the salsa they use?
Thank you all. GG thank you for the recipe and comments. I will try to make some today, but I’m not sure if I can locate the chips here but like the bottled salsa, the old store brands are not the same as at the rest.

They are usually made there and if not they at least heat the chips up.

Every restaurant is different, they make different salsa.
None of the bottled stuff is any good.
Usually it appears that they make salsa that I call “salsa huevona”
(lazy salsa)…it is very easy….That’s why they make lots of it with little work.

    Chop up:
    Tomatoes
    Onions
    Fresh hot peppers
    Salt
    A little garlic
Put them in a saucepan, and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat immediately. Let stand until cooled.
That’s it. Stir in some chopped cilantro if you like.

The restaurants fry their tortillas chips fresh.
I really like the brand of chip “XOCHITL”
They’re about $5 a bag, but worth every penny.

the chips are probably localy produced from Masa, then fried up at the restaurant when you order them. The salsa depends on the restaurant.

I live in San Antonio Texas. Really good restaurants here make their own chips and salsa. The basic salsa recipe is fresh tomtaoes, onion, jalepenos, garlic, cilantro, vinegar, salt and pepper. You kind of have to tweek it on your own. Tweek as you go. there are so many ways to do it. Some people even grill their veggies before making the salsa…gives it a smoky flavor.

They are made at the restaurant, just deep fried sliced tortillas. The sauces are usually made at the restaurant as well, the usual combination of grilled green peppers, grilled tomatoes, onion cilantro, blended together.
