It depends on the size of the unit but if you look at the label on a unit it will tell you how much energy that unit will use.

The power you put into an air conditioner, through the electric mains is equal to the heat put into the heating coil (condenser) less the heat you take out of the cooler (evaporator).
For a typical domestic unit the cooling capacity is three to four times the power input, so if you have a unit rated for 3kW of cooling ( about 10,000 Btu/hour ) you will be putting about 4kW of heat into the heating coil and drawing about 1kW of power from the electric main.
