    Hi, sadly no.
As I live in England and haven’t as yet crossed the Atlantic it still remains a pleasure for me to just dream about.
I have seen documentaries and photographs and as you say it does look breathtaking.
Maybe one day I’ll win the lottery and be able to visit such places or ideally take a slow boat around the world, until then I shall have to carry on dreaming.

Indeed, I have! I love the road…I think it is 33A which lies between Sedona and Flagstaff. The entire drive is scenic with switchbacks around the mountains. Absolutely gorgeous!

There is no other place like Sedona! All the red rock formations are just wonders! many, do match their names too!

If you keep going through Sedona, traveling west, you drive through a mountainous town which looks like Victorian cliff dwellings. I think the name of this town is, Jerome! What awesome views they have from this very small town.

Yes, the area you are talking about is stunningly beautiful and changes extremely fast in flora and fauna.

Only flying over, I wouldn’t go there as a day trip because of my fear of heights. Wish I could though.

I grew up in Phoenix so yes, I’ve spent a lot of time in those places. I remember when Sedona had just one paved road and one stop light, LOL. Later, I wrote a book concerning the logging history of Flagstaff. That was fun to do. I had a chance to work on the Grand Canyon Railroad – and spent a few days there to check it out. But I didn’t take it in order to accept an Engineer position with another railroad in the mid-west.

I just thought of this. When I was a teenager, I had a truck driving job from Phx to Sedona to Flagstaff. One rainy night I was on the Oak Creek Canyon switchbacks. There had been a rock slide. I pushed a rather large rock over the side so I could get by. That damaged the truck far more than I imagined it would. But I was a hero at work for getting through and the job done in the face of adversity. LOL.

Flagstaff and the desert sky at night was amazing…. and the canyon at De Chelly just stopped my heart!..like this part…Spider Rock…

No. But I would have loved to, while I was still able to degotiate the trails down into the canyon. I am afraid that I wouldn’t subject any poor little donkey to my fat @ss now!

I’ve never seen the Grand Canyon but my wife and I traveled to Tempe on a train this past summer to pick up my grandson for the summer. We met my son and grandson in Sedona. This was my first trip to the desert so I didn’t know what to expect. Before we left, I couldn’t understand why anyone would choose to live in the desert. After being there I have changed my mind. I could easily live in Sedona … It’s beautiful. The town itself isn’t all that big but the shops and restaurants are fabulous. Most of the houses are built on the hills and mountain sides and the dirt is red in color. One of the things that stuck out in my mind about Sedona, and Tempe for that matter, was how neat and clean the streets were. We didn’t go to the Grand Canyon but my son wants us to return next summer and spend a couple days there.

My wife and I have explored the Grand Canyon area, several of the smaller canyons in Arizona, many of the canyons of Utah, and found them to some of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. We live in the Eastern part of the US, and have visited places in every state except Alaska. There are interesting things to see anywhere, if you take the time to look for them. Happy traveling.

I’ve been to both the Grand Canyon and Sedona, Arizona.

The Grand Canyon is a must-do, especially the South Rim. Doesn’t matter how you do it, just get there. For those on the cusp of leaving, here’s a bookmark-worth site that reviews tours (bus, helicopter, and airplane) to the Grand Canyon:

    http://www.GrandCanyon123.com

Sedona is land of the Red Rocks. Beautiful during all four seasons. There’s not really a bad time to go. Good eats, accommodations, and activities (especially hiking). I

The ideal Arizona Vacation would be to stay in Sedona and day trip to the South Rim, or vice versa.

Been to Arizona on a few occassions, ( phoenix ) ( Scottsdale ) ( Nogalas ) both sides of the border, Tucson, Sedona, the Canyon, hiked part of the Bright Angel Trail, no words can describe the wonder of the Canyon, especially the Sunsets.

    Been to both places.

The Canyon is awesome. I goggled it after going there to try to get an idea as to how it was formed and to this day I find it hard to believe that ice, wind and rain did the main gouging..!

I was amused in Sedona to see that the Town Fathers had made McDonald’s put up a green sign instead of their usual gunky yellow arches..!

Been to Yellowstone too, and Yosemite. They’re well worth a visit and we did some great camping in both areas.

A few years ago I hiked along with family and friends down the South Kaibab Trail, which is about 6 miles, then another 3 miles to the Suspension Bridge on the way to Phantom Ranch where we stayed in a cabin.
Next day up the the Bright Angels Trail which is about 9 miles.

It was a totally breathtaking experience (literally).
And we are now in the 1% club that have hiked down and up. . . haha!

It took 2 years to be able to book the ranch cabin for 10 of us.
And it takes some training before doing it…. and getting the proper gear, footwear, hydration packs, walking sticks, etc.

Yes I have hiked in Sedona. Very beautiful also.
    And Zion, Bryce and Arches.
We have such beautiful national parks to see.
