Anyone know how to crack open a hard drive to swap and return your old one to a store ?:)?

Toshiba TV e hard drive 3.5 enclosures seem hard, so far i peeled up the back decal to get to the screws, then removed the drive replacing it with my old 200gb Sata, but the store will notice this if i return it, anyone else know a way to open the Enclosure so i can upgrade the drive with out voiding the warranty?

In order to defraud the merchant, obviously, you will need to gut the item you intend to return without any trace. That will be tough to do, since seals and stickers usually show damage. Try a heat gun to soften the adhesive and peal the decal.

If you haven’t bought the drive you intend to defraud the merchant with, perhaps you can study the store you intend to steal from and make notes of the various clerks. Perhaps you can go to a small store that is family owned. They might be more trusting of people and struggling small businesses try harder to satisfy their customers. You need to gain their trust, so they won’t realize you are stealing from them. With any luck, they won’t even open the box to carefully inspect the junk you are passing off as the item you “bought”.
