What exactly is an agnostic and are they just people who do not have the guts to be called athiest?
What exactly does agnostic mean?
Are they just people who are too afraid of redicule to call themeslves atheist?
Is it not the same as someone calling themselves Bi – sexual? Too afraid to say they are homosexual?
Just turn to Jesus Agnostics. You are just the same as Atheist!

They neither confirm nor deny the existence of a god or gods. And you seem to be generalizing with a group you know nothing about. People can be unsure and in between they don’t have to be on one side or the other.

we are not the same as athiests, they believe that god is all a load of horse shit, and try to make religious people feel stupid for their believes
but us agnostics are just people that believe in god without church, meaning that we believe that a god exists, and that by believing in him, we have faith that that is enough for his love.
we simply don’t want to be part of any religion, as it gets inbetween our relationship with whatever god we believe in

Agnostics are people who have no definite opinion about the existence of God, possibly because they believe it’s undecidable, which strictly speaking it is. Why would anyone be afraid of ridicule if they said they were an atheist?
Bisexuals are people who can feel erotic love regardless of gender. They deserve respect.

Some times yes they are.
But technically (for the benefit of any rational people who may wander into thsi thread) agnostics are those who reject the idea of knowledge and certainty gained by mystical revelation.
It’s a completely separate question and issue from that of god belief. You can be (i am) 100% agnostic and 100% atheist at the same time.
I do not believe revelation gives knowledge and I do not believe any god claims.

there is no evidence to suggest that God, Allah or Zeus are any more accurate interpretations than the Egyptian Gods. Nor do we know enough about the universe to completely rule out a God. Therefore I prefer to admit that I don’t know and can’t know.

Agnostic is only a philosophy that says you can’t prove for or against a god. It’s not a religion, more like a disclaimer. You can be an agnostic atheist, agnostic theist, or an agnostic person who could care less. It only means that you think it can’t be proved. Which is true…

I have always thought that an agnostic is a person who is 1/2 believer and one half athiest. There is room for doubt in their brain. You know the Bible tells us that we cannot serve two masters. Therefore either a person is for God or against Him. Your comparrision for bi sexual works, to afraid to say homosexual. That is excellent.
Oh by the way in the final judgement day there will be no fence riders in heaven. You either believe in God or you don’t.

No, it’s not the same thing at all. An Agnostic is usually a person with a very open mind. While Atheists believe there is NO God and Deists believe that there is, an Agnostic believes in the possibility of God. If you were able to prove the existence or non existence of God, an Agnostic would be brave enough to admit they were wrong….you just have to prove things to them…which really makes a lot more sense.
For example if you told me there was a giant monster living in a lake that would eat me, I’d want either a survey of the lake showing absolutely nothing there or photographs, droppings and chewed bones to prove it was there…I wouldn’t just take your word for it.

Agnostics are afraid of being wrong, plain and simple. They feel that if they are on the fence then they can’t be judged by either side. But God clearly says you are either for Him or against Him. So there are really only two groups, those who believe and have faith and those who don’t.

Agnostics are unsure about whether or not there is a deity out there.
They think they cannot possibly make a stand either way, because there just isn’t enough evidence to do so, in their opinion.
Most agnostics I’ve met were quite intelligent people.
I also used to be one in the past, before becoming an atheist.
And trust me: Agnostics cannot just decide to “turn to Jesus”.
They have too much of a critical thinking skill for that! In order to go from skeptic/rationalist to believer, you will basically have to put all of your thoughts and questions on the shelf! I know I personally never could, even if I wanted to. And the same is probably the case for most other non-theists, agnostics included.
Perhaps you should open a book or five..?

An agnostic is someone who admits that whilst we can never KNOW whether a god exists or not, we are certainly entitled to BELIEVE or NOT BELIEVE. The agnostic manages to side step all the dogmatism surrounding theists and atheists alike. I think its a pretty admirable position to uphold. There is no shame or embarrasment to be had in admitting that we just don’t know for certain.

Being agnostic means you think it’s impossible to objectively either prove or disprove the existence of any gods, and that there’s just no evidence either way. It’s not being a “fencesitter” by ay means, as some people might think. Some agnostics are in fact theists, in that they personally choose to believe in a god despite their lack of proof.

When somebody is agnostic they believe that there is a god or gods but don’t actually belong to a certain religion. Or they believe it’s impossible to know whether there is a god or not. I do disagree with the question that implied you think agnostics are people who are too afraid to call themselves atheists. This is because they are two very different beliefs. You see, agnostics believe it’s impossible to know if there is a god or not, who it is, what they offer etc. whereas atheists believe indefinitely that there is a not a god of any sort. I’m sure you will agree that there is a good solid difference between agnostics and atheists.
As for likening it to bi-sexuals being too afraid to call themselves homosexual, I’m not too sure where that thought came from but I won’t go into it however they are both different things again.
I hope I managed to clear that up for you!

atheist – is a word created by god fearing people to categorize people that didn’t believe in a higher power
most true atheists resent the word because it implies that there is a god to be (atheist) against.
