Is there an FM transmitter for cars that runs on batteries and does not plug into the power outlet?
My 12 volt power outlet (cig lighter) doesn’t work and I was wondering if there is an FM transponder for mps players that runs on batteries.

Not as I’m aware of. Even very low power transmitters still use up batteries, and since they’re for very short distance use in a car, nearly all cars have a working cigarette lighter. That, and cars can maintain a constant 12v, whereas batteries drop in voltage as soon as they start being used.

This one uses 3 AAA batteries:

This one uses 2 AA batteries:

This one has a rechargeable battery inside:

And this one uses a single AAA battery -or- the cigarette lighter power outlet (but I see it got many bad reviews, especially for using up that one AAA battery very quickly, so it’s just included for completeness):

The one that uses AA batteries would probably give the longest playing time with a set of batteries, since AAs supply more mAh than AAAs (which is why that single-AAA unit has such pitiful playing time!).
