How can I get longer and straighter?

I’ve been golfing for years and my drives all slice. Will new balls help?

You need to work on improving your stroke. You are probably stuck with the balls you already have.

Balls will not help. You need to make sure you take the club back inside the target line or square to the target line. I am sure you are talking it back outside the line and coming inside the line on your downswing and putting slice spin on the ball. Lay a tee somewhere behind the ball pointing at your target and far enough away that you will take the club back on or inside that line. If you take it far inside you might be surprised that you may put hook spin on it. Keep working with it and groove it into your swing. Slicing is a major problem for higher handicappers in golf. If you can learn this you can improve your game a bunch. Happy Golfing. Also if you do this you will have more power too and should increase your length as well.

New balls would not do a whole lot for you. Leave the cover on the driver for a while and take out the 3 wood. Much easier to hit, more control, more predictable and it will go nearly as far.I consider myself a long ball hitter and whenever I get a case of the ass with my driver I just leave it in the bag and worry more about my approach. Or you can try something that I call climbing the hill of power. Hit 5 balls with enough force that you would with a 40 yard wedge shot and bump it up a little with five balls at a time until you’re back at full power, doing this allows you to worry more on direction and placement rather than distance and might straighten you out a bit on the range before a round. To get a little more distance off the tee try addressing the ball the way you normally would and then if you’re right handed move your right foot 2-3 inches farther away from your left foot. If you’re left handed then vice verse. Like I said though I would just take it down a notch and worry about short game. You only tee off 18 times a round and only about 2/3 of the time do you use a driver or a wood. You pick up that wedge and 9 iron way more often. Master the short game and the long game will come
